It’s Fri-yay!

After a grand silence here on the blog by little old me, I have an exciting new pattern to share with our dear readers!

Tami from Love Notions Sewing Patterns has updated and extended the size range on her popular Ladies’ Sloane Sweater Pattern AND also released a brand new girls’ Sloane Sweater! You can buy both of them in a bundle right here!

Why do I love Love Notions Sewing Patterns? Size range of 2T-16 for girls, line drawings to showcase the different options/views, and excellent fit advice! I also love the no-trim pages and layered printing to take me from computer to sewing machine quickly! Continue Reading

Delaney Dress and Tunic

I’m so excited to have a little girl  and get to test all the fun dresses and tunics I’ve missed out on with 4 boys. Peek a Boo Pattern Shop has just released the Delaney Dress and Tunic, and I sewed up two tunics for my little girl. The Delaney features a high-low hemline, three sleeve lengths (short, 3/4, and full), a neckband or hood option, and a front pocket.

My first version is a size 6 month long sleeve tunic length without the pocket. I used a panel previously offered at Peek a Boo Pattern Shop. I love the high low hem which adds interest to a basic tunic.  Continue Reading

BSD Tess Tulips

In the northern Midwest, we’re in the thick of summer. A Michigan summer is hot and humid, and shorts are a necessity! That being said, my middle daughter really isn’t fond of them; she’d live in leggings if she could! So I have to be careful to make them pretty, soft, and comfy. Enter Bella Sunshine Designs and the Tess Tulip Shorts.

The simple, sweet design, easy construction, two inseam lengths, and endless trim options interest me. My daughter likes the not-too-fitted fit and… Continue Reading

Good Night, Sleep Tight (Swaddle)

If there’s one thing that has been constant between Miss M and her big brothers as babies, it is their love of being swaddled. My babies have all loved that wrapped up tight feeling. Miss M is currently a rock star sleeper, most of which I attribute to the swaddle because she can’t startle herself awake. The only problem I’m finding is that because she was on the larger side at birth, she’s outgrowing many of the swaddle blankets we own. She’s currently growing into 6-9 month clothing and is only 3 months today! Continue Reading

Love Notions Allegro

It’s a pant…it’s shorts…it’s a skirt…no…IT’S ALLEGRO!

Maybe a bit over the top, but seriously. This pattern is all that AND a bag of chips. I give you the Love Notions Allegro!

The Allegro pattern offers options for shorts with a 5″ or 9″ inseam, a cropped pant, a knee length skirt, or a maxi length skirt. The shorts options can be hemmed or cuffed. Love Notions Rhapsody Blouse

Love Notions Patterns has done it again with the release of the Rhapsody Blouse. This flowy blouse is sure to become a favorite summer staple! The pattern is on sale for $8 through Monday, and you can take advantage of tiered pricing with as few as 2 patterns.

Rhapsody features a relaxed fit with some shaping at the sides, a curved hem, and a yoke with gathered shoulders and a pleat in the back. It’s meant for drapy, flowy wovens such as chiffon, voile, challis, rayon, charmeuse, or lawn. You could also use a knit, but might want to size down. The pattern is sized from XS to XXXL, and a full bust piece is included. For us well-endowed ladies, this is great news, as we won’t have to make an FBA–full bust adjustment. Woot! There are also EIGHT sleeve styles–tank, cap, short, flutter, 3/4 with cuff or flare, bishop, or long. Continue Reading

The Bondi and Mini Bondi Top by Sew to Grow Patterns

I have been so excited to write a blog post about these two patterns and I finally can!

When I went to Quilt Market last fall, I had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey from Sew to Grow Patterns. Lindsay is a talented pattern designer and sewing instructor living in Australia. I love following her Instagram to see where she will go next.

When Art Gallery Fabrics asked me to sew up some women’s rayon looks for their Fusions lookbook, I contacted Lindsay since I immediately thought of her beautiful Bondi Top as suitable for flowy fabrics like Art Gallery’s newest substrate rayon. I used the Millefiori print designed by Pat Bravo Designs.  I think this is actually the first WOVEN top I’ve made for myself on  my sewing journey and it’s love! Continue Reading

A New Take on a Onesie from Peekaboo Pattern Shop!

Can you really have too many bodysuits for your babies?
That’s a trick question because the answer is no. No you can’t!
Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is expanding their Lullaby Line with the Cardigan Bodysuit.

This bodysuit (or onesie, if you prefer) has the look of a classic cardigan with the diaper-changing ease of a snap placket at the crotch. The pattern fits sizes newborn through 4t, and the newborn size will fit most 18″ dolls. There is an option for a faux undershirt, and a short sleeve or long sleeve with cuffs.

Genie choose to make her little man’s with comfy cotton lycra from the Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop. The stripe is from the Knit Basics collection (Yarn Dyed 3/8″ Gray & White Stripe, and it was a lovely fabric. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a bargain line of fabric, but this is a nice weight, soft, and has great recovery. The blue can be found here. Continue Reading

So what does a rational woman do in this circumstance? She signs up to test an adorable swimsuit for her little girl!

The Swan Lake Leotard and Swimsuit has released and is available for purchase at the release price of $6.75 today (1/19). Continue Reading
