New Made for Mermaids Lea!

The Made for Mermaids team has been busy cooking up your new favorite pattern, and I was lucky enough to test the girls version.

Introducing the Lea Dolman!

Lea is a super easy sew available in sizes 1/2 through 14 and offers options for a romper, dress, and tunic. It’s a dolman style, which means the sleeve is part of the body (woot woot…no sleeves to set in!) The pattern is designed for knits, although a woven can be used for the dress or tunic skirt. Introducing the Rowan Raglan from Made for Mermaids

Genie and I are back with a great new pattern for Made for Mermaids today! The Rowan Raglan is a unisex raglan packed with options:

Rowan Raglan Options

Shirt, Banded Tunic, Ruffle Tunic, or Dress Length

Neckband, Lined Hood, or Hemmed Hood

Adorable Animal Ears and Faces to personalize your shirt

Trying to choose from all the options was difficult! The animal ears and svg cut files (for a Cricut or Silhouette) machine were so fun that I’m adding a Silhouette to my Christmas wish list. Continue Reading

Made For Mermaids Ella 2.0

The Ella and matching Mama Ella tops have been updated! The top has always been adorable, with a ruffled neckline and low back, accented by a tie, but the new options and fit will make it an essential wardrobe piece! Now, the ruffle is optional, there is a higher back option, and in addition to the tie back, there are options for a plain band and bow back. Finally, there have been hemline additions; the regular top hem, which hits at the hip, a front tie option, and a dress option. The Mama Ella top has been updated to fit Made for Mermaids new, extended sizes. It has also added two hemlines, tie front with curved back and dress length, and a new cross back option Continue Reading

Introducing the Luna Loungewear Set for Girls and Women!

Today I’m happy to share with you the newest pattern from Love Notions – the Luna Loungewear set.  This pattern for both girls and women is amazingly comfortable and surprisingly quick to sew up with lovely results.

The Luna Loungewear pattern is available in women’s sizes from XS-XXXL and girls sizes from 2t-16 and 8P-16P.  There are options for a just-above-the-knee length nighty and a cami that pairs beautifully with the shorts or capri-length bottoms that include optional pockets. Seriously, who doesn’t need pockets in their loungewear? So perfect!  The women’s version includes a shelf bra as does the girls version in size 8 and up.  Everything can be made out of a cozy knit or the shorts/capris can be made out of a woven fabric. PAB Barcelona Blouse

When Amy from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop released a sneak of the summer blouse she was working on, I knew I wanted in. It was light and flowy, and oh so cute!

The Barcelona Blouse is a loose, flowy top that is perfect for summer heat. It includes a sleeveless and petal sleeve option, and can be made with either knit or woven fabrics. The top yoke is lined, which makes it perfect for a lovely lace fabric. It is available in sizes XXS through XXXL; I tested the size XS in the first round, and the XXXL in the second round. Sofilantjes Litore Tunic and Dress

This week, I’ve been a busy bee with pattern testing and I’m really excited to share my first with you!

This was my first test for Sofilantjes, and I want to take a moment to say how easy Anne was to test for. This pattern was well designed and well written, and she was very responsive to any input, problems, or questions we had as testers.

But now on to the good stuff!

The Litore Tunic and Dress is a classic looking sundress from the front, with a really fun  criss cross strap detail in the back. It is available as a tunic, dress, or maxi with three different hem types; a-line, high/low circle, and handkerchief. The circle and handkerchief options also include pockets, which are so necessary for little girls and their treasures. All three skirts are interchangeable with the Solis Tunic and Dress, too, providing endless summer options! The pattern contains sizes 12 months through 14 years (undeveloped, although alterations aren’t too hard if your girl is within the size ranges), is written in English and Dutch, includes instructions with both pictures and graphics (the pattern is so easy to follow), and trimless pattern pieces in A4 and letter size. It’s on sale for two days only for 5.50 Euros (the exchange rate shows it at $6.12 USD, but that will be subject to change). Continue Reading

The SLPco Jane featuring Art Gallery Denim and Art Gallery Lavish

Good morning, sewing friends!

What are you working on in your corner of the world? My sewing time has been rather limited lately but I carved out some precious summer time to test the new Jane Dress and Romper pattern from Simple Life Pattern Co. Jane is one of the newest SLPco releases so make sure you check it out!

Gemia is the newest designer at Simple Life Pattern Co. and I am so impressed with her design, her drafting, and her response to tester feedback on this pattern. Whenever I test the first time for a designer I hold my breath a little until the final fitting. I tend to stick to a few favorite designers since I know how their patterns fit my kids, and Gemia has made that short list with just one pattern! Continue Reading

The Peek-a-Boo Felicity Release

I have been trying in vain to take a short break from testing so we can enjoy the glorious June weather that is to be had in the Upper Midwest. However, when I saw the Felicity from PAB I had to put a stop to those plans because I knew it would be perfect for my baby’s 2nd birthday outfit! And the only way to get my hands on a copy of it in time would be to test it!

The Felicity Dress is a sleeveless, button (or snap) front collared dress featuring woven fabrics. It can be made with a fully-covered back, or with the cute shirred, halter collar option. I did not test the shirred back version so my thoughts and review are based entirely on the full back version. Continue Reading

P4P – Semi-Fitted Tank Top and Dress (Racerback and Straight Strap)

Welcome back to the Sew and Tell Project! We’ve been so busy testing and getting ready for our first blog tour that we have been quiet over here on the blog. Make sure you check out Eleri’s post today and Alisha’s tomorrow as part of the Make Laundry, Don’t Do Laundry blog tour!

Patterns for Pirates has been one of my favorite pattern companies for almost as long as I’ve been using PDF patterns. When Judy was looking for testers for her new Essential Tank, I was super excited because this style of tank is what I live in during the summer! Eleri, Genie, and I were all chosen to test this new release. Are you ready for all the versions we made? Continue Reading
