After a grand silence here on the blog by little old me, I have an exciting new pattern to share with our dear readers!
Tami from Love Notions Sewing Patterns has updated and extended the size range on her popular Ladies’ Sloane Sweater Pattern AND also released a brand new girls’ Sloane Sweater! You can buy both of them in a bundle right here!
Why do I love Love Notions Sewing Patterns? Size range of 2T-16 for girls, line drawings to showcase the different options/views, and excellent fit advice! I also love the no-trim pages and layered printing to take me from computer to sewing machine quickly! Continue Reading
If you’re looking for a really cute and easy homemade Halloween costume, look no further! Today, Rebecca Page is releasing the Peacock Mask and Tutu. And it’s 100% completely free!
My version is sewn (using double sided, heat sensitive interfacing to hold the layers together, and then top stitching for detail and permanence), but you could easily throw this together with a hot glue gun. Continue Reading
I’m really excited to be blogging about the new Softshell Jacket from Gracious Threads today! If you’ve been following Sew and Tell Project for awhile, you might remember that Jessica was the winner of Season 12 of Project Run and Play! I can’t believe it’s been almost exactly one year since we competed in this awesome sewing competition.
We’ve stayed connected to the other contestants throughout this past year. When Jess needed testers for her new Softshell Jacket though, I noticed that I had some free time in my sewing calendar so I hurried to sign up because the sewing community is cool like that. Bonus: This jacket is exactly what the kids needed for our upcoming trip to the U.K. Continue Reading
Love Notions Bluezette is a pattern that I’ve been wanting to try and I’m so excited that I had an excuse to use it! With five skirt options, two bodice choices, and three sleeve lengths, there are so many ways you can put one together. In fact, I ended up making two, and they are going to get so much use this summer.
The dress is designed for knits, but any of the gathered skirt options will work with lighter, drapey fabric choices, and I knew right away that I wanted to use the amazing Art Gallery Rayon in Swifting Flora Boho I’d been hoarding (it’s so soft, and was a dream to sew). Continue Reading
I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I made my first Love Notions Tidal Dress! Recently, the generous people at Art Gallery Fabrics sent me some of their beautiful new Charleston collection by Amy Sinibaldi to make another Tidal.
Since my previous Tidals have been made featuring 2 prints, I decided to showcase how the Tidal looks in just one bold print. I think the look really suits my style! And hint: Love Notions is running a Mother’s Day Sale right now: 25% off all single patterns using code: motherslove. This sale is good through Monday so now is a good time to shop! Continue Reading
I am so excited to share Simple Life Pattern Company’s newest pattern: Patricia’s Boho High Low Top and Dress. Like all Simple Life Patterns, Patricia is LOADED with options. Layered printing, several sleeve and tank options, dress and top options, dramatic or moderate skirt option. Patricia can be made in knit or woven and looks amazing in lightweight flowy wovens such as voile, rayon, and thin jersey knits. Fun Fact: The Patricia is named after talented fabric designer and Art Gallery Fabrics owner, Pat Bravo. Continue Reading
I have been so excited to write a blog post about these two patterns and I finally can!
When I went to Quilt Market last fall, I had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey from Sew to Grow Patterns. Lindsay is a talented pattern designer and sewing instructor living in Australia. I love following her Instagram to see where she will go next.
When Art Gallery Fabrics asked me to sew up some women’s rayon looks for their Fusions lookbook, I contacted Lindsay since I immediately thought of her beautiful Bondi Top as suitable for flowy fabrics like Art Gallery’s newest substrate rayon. I used the Millefiori print designed by Pat Bravo Designs. I think this is actually the first WOVEN top I’ve made for myself on my sewing journey and it’s love! Continue Reading
