Today, as part of the Back to School Blog Tour hosted by Lulu & Celeste and Sprouting JubeJube Productions, I’m happy to share with you this fun and comfy back to school look – Peekaboo Pattern Shop style!
I used the Grand Slam Tee with 3/4 length sleeves and a bit of extra length in hopes that this shirt will last almost the whole school year. The 3/4 length sleeves will stay out of his way as he creates messy art projects but still provide enough warmth to be worn through the fall and winter months. The fabric is fun polyester spandex blend that is reversible – solid on one side, striped on the other. It is a bit thicker than the fabrics normally used for raglans, but it adds a nice bit of structure and warmth making it perfect for cooler weather. Because of the structure of the fabric and the fact that it is just a 2 way stretch, I finished the neck using a binding method instead of the recommended band. I also added some top-stitching to the sleeve seams to finish off the polished look. I just love how comfy and soft it turned out!
I had a baby on February 26. In addition to all my feelings of joy (I am so blessed in my husband and three children), another thought soon began racing through my head:
I can test for boys now!! SEW ALL THE BOY BABY CLOTHES!!
So when Peek a Boo Pattern Shop put out a testing call for the Tide Pool Tank, I was all in.
The Tide Pool Tank is a sweet and simple slim-fit tank top with a hood option. I made the 6 month size for my not-quite-three-month-old-chunk, and the fit is spot on. It is on sale today, for Thrifty Thursday, for $6.75. The top is suitable for boys or girls and is sized from 3 months to 12 years.

Eleri and I have a treat of a top and dress pattern to share with you today. The Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is releasing the Flutterby Top and Dress pattern and it is on sale for $6.75 today (4/14). The pattern features a raglan style top or dress with flutter sleeves in sizes 3 mo to 12.
You probably know by now that Eleri loves all the knit dresses from the Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop. Usually, Eleri sews her child’s ready-to-wear size with some added length. Because of the deep armscye and raglan ruffle neck, it is imperative to pay close attention to the size chart on this sew. Eleri usually sews a 10 for her Big Miss, but sized down to an 8 for this test and got perfect results.
When I am shopping for patterns for my 4 boys, I look for patterns that offer a lot of versatility and options. The Peek a Boo Pattern Shop Boardwalk Tee is just that. You’ll probably notice that many of the clothes I sew for my boys are from PAB, and there’s a good reason for that. Amy’s patterns are easy to use and provide professional finishes. Her pictures and step by step instructions have made it easy for me to improve my sewing skills!
So last week, I was finally able to share pictures of my Sun Kissed Tee by Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop in a gorgeous Art Gallery knit. If you scroll through the blog, you can see that I’m a HUGE fan of PAB. I have sewn over 100 garments made with PAB patterns in the last 22 months.
There are a few reasons for that volume of sewing (not that I have to justify sewing excessively to my readers, I imagine).

I’ve been quiet on the blog recently but not this week. THREE patterns that I have been testing over the last few weeks are all releasing today! I sure am glad that I got my daughter’s First Communion dress done early so I could kick back and do some fun and less stressful projects!

I’m squeezing in right under the wire with this blog post as the link up ends tonight. If I had planned my month better, I would have been outside taking pictures on Saturday when it was 70 above. Instead I headed out today when it was 20. BRRR! If I look like I’m shivering in this first set of pictures, that’s why.

Hello everyone! Alisha here. Today I’m sharing my favorite project I’ve made to date. In December, my oldest son’s teacher and her husband were blessed to adopt a newborn baby girl. We were all surprised and elated by the news! I knew I wanted to make something for the new baby from her class. After thinking, I realized a handprint quilt would be a perfect gift.
After deciding on my project, I sketched out the quilt design and calculated my fabric needs. I decided on a simple block design with sashing between the blocks. There were 21 students in his class so in order to make a square quilt, I needed 3 more blocks. Another teacher’s mother does machine embroidery. She made me 3 squares with baby’s name, baby’s birth stats, and a Bible verse I felt was fitting. The verse I chose was “For this child, I have prayed” from 1 Samuel 1:27.

I don’t sew a lot for myself… I mean with four growing kids, I can fill every minute at my sewing machine making stuff just for them. At 5’10”, I am tall, but it is also not impossible to find store bought clothes that fit me well…. or well-enough.
