Wonderful in the Willow Wrap Top!

Just because I’m sometimes quiet on the blog doesn’t mean I’ve stopped creating! During all of my holiday sewing this year, I had time to make a new favorite shirt!  This is the Love Notions Willow Wrap top. The Willow Wrap top includes a straight and asymmetrical hem options. The top has an optional modesty panel and is very nursing friendly.  And, as a bonus, I used one of Art Gallery Fabrics newest lines to create this look for their lookbook!

This beautiful knit is one of several gorgeous prints in the newly-released Sage Fabrics line by Bari J. for Art Gallery Fabrics. You can find my look along with many other fabulous creations in the pages of the lookbook released by Art Gallery Fabrics today! The whole line is a beautiful homage to the designer’s home state of Arizona. I just love all the prints and colorways that make me dream of warmer climates! In a few short months, I will appreciate the beauty of the upper Midwest again, but for now I dream of the Southwest……

When I was invited to create for the lookbook, I immediately fell in love with this gorgeous Bougainvillea Evergreen floral knit. As always with Art Gallery Fabrics, the quality, softness, and recovery is top notch.

One of my favorite details of the Willow Wrap top is the asymmetrical hem. It is a very figure flattering detail. The side ruching is also a must for this mom of four.

The Willow has multiple sleeve lengths included. In the winter, I like to wear 3/4 length sleeves under my sweaters and coats to add extra layers but not have extra bulk in my cuffs when I go outside into the cold prairie wind! I sewed the Willow Wrap top in a size large based on my measurements and my desired fit. I added my usual 2″ length at the lengthen lines and my finished top hits at a flattering midpoint on my hip. The only modification I made to the pattern was to ruche the side a bit more so the crossover occurs between the breasts instead of across. This pattern has been added to my “favorite makes” file and I am sure you will both see more of this pattern and other Love Notions creations on the blog!

I want to say a special thanks to Katie from The Simple Life Pattern Company for her photography for this post! You can find me on Instagram if you want to stay-up-to-date with the gorgeous prints under my needle!

Beautiful top and – as always – beautiful model! I have this pattern printed. Just need to assemble and sew! Soon, I hope.

Thank you, Felicia! I really encourage you! My muslin took me probably about 2 hours to make…. The instructions were very clear. I had to modify the order of two steps when I ruched my final a bit more, but it is such a quick pattern once you know the directions!
