Sew what Do I Wear? Valentine’s Edition!

With three kids and no family nearby, my husband and I don’t get to go out on date nights often. So when we get the chance, my first thought is almost always OHMYGOSH WHERE WILL WE EAT?? because I love food. 😉 Ok but seriously, I usually think “What am I going to wear???” first.

When the Mama Claire Two-Way Dolman Top by Made for Mermaids was released, I knew it was a style that I’d like, and I decided rather quickly that I wanted to try it out for this blog tour.

I found this burnout stretch velvet at JoAnn Fabrics and it was a no brainer. I love deep red, and this has just a teeny bit of shimmer to it. The top is a pretty easy sew and I love that M4M’s patterns are so easy to customize to my (weird postpartum) figure. It’s a dolman style, so no sleeve to inset. The long sleeve is super easy, the bottom is banded, and you don’t even have to do a true neckband–with the crossover, your neck binding stays in a continuous strip rather than a circle and is sewn into the side seam. The top can be worn with either the crossover V in the front, as I’ve styled it, or the scoop neck in the front, giving a nice deep V in the back. And I was successful–husband’s eyes lit up when he saw this top. 🙂

Ok…because it’s Valentine’s Day…I guess I can vamp it up a little. 🙂

Be sure to visit the other tours on the blog! There are many amazing Valentine’s Day date night options to drool over.
