Beautiful and Boho from Simple Life Pattern Company

6/2018 Update: Patricia is the SLPco Pattern of the Month! You can grab it here for only $8!

I am so excited to share Simple Life Pattern Company’s newest pattern: Patricia’s Boho High Low Top and Dress.  Like all Simple Life Patterns, Patricia is LOADED with options. Layered printing, several sleeve and tank options, dress and top options, dramatic or moderate skirt option. Patricia can be made in knit or woven and looks amazing in lightweight flowy wovens such as voile, rayon, and thin jersey knits. Fun Fact: The Patricia is named after talented fabric designer and Art Gallery Fabrics owner, Pat Bravo.

Confession: I was skeptical of how this would look on my tall and slender girls – But I had this beautiful Bari J. Sage print that just screamed  dramatic high low dress.

I typically shy away from woven “no closure” patterns because sometimes the neckholes are too large and wide or the shoulder area is too tight and the kids have a hard time taking them on and off themselves. Because Patricia is drafted to be flowy, but with a beautiful neckline with a slight scoop back, it fits beautifully. The flow is beautiful with the slight curved front bodice and elongated and curved back bodice. This gives this garment shape. Plus, since it’s Mom-made, I can make a size 8 and blend it to a 12 length assuring that it fits her chest measurements while still being long enough.

The pattern is designed to float right above the knees in dress length. There was some additional length added after testing to make sure it is long enough in all sizes.  I am very happy with the length of mine but will add some crochet trim if she shoots up on me! Everything grows in the summer right?

I also made a dramatic high low top in this new Art Gallery In Blue Knit. I made another garment that I can’t share yet, and was just barely able to get this out of my leftovers.  We grabbed a quick picture after piano lessons so I could show you how Patricia works up in all knit. It fits and flows beautifully in knit, too.

Speaking of leftovers, I’ve been working on a special project with Indie Boheme Fabrics by Pat Bravo Designs of Art Gallery Fabrics. Since this pattern is an homage to designer, Pat Bravo, I just had to squeeze out one more with Indie Boheme fabrics.  I have made 2 dresses for my girls and 1 for me that I can’t share yet – but I can often get a shirt or a scrappy dress made out of leftovers from the big girls’ dresses. I started wondering how Patricia would look with a knit bodice and woven skirt so I could use and mix my leftovers. I was VERY low on a cut to make the skirt piece, so I had to shorten it a couple inches in order to make this dress. She is only 2, so I think a little extra chubby knee is okay, right?

I think the knit bodice/woven skirt might be my favorite combo and I will probably try that for the big girls soon. I love designer knits – but most of my favorite designers like Art Gallery Fabrics produce more woven options than knits, so this opens up an endless array of possibilities for coordinating our outfits. (By the way, if you’re digging these shoes as much as we are this year, you can grab them here!)

I also mixed things up a bit so you could easily see the awesome shaping in the back bodice. Isn’t she just the sweetest?

Make sure you head on over to buy your Patricia today while it is the June Pattern of the Month!

I hope you’ll be as happy as she is with your Patricia!

The knit/woven combo looks really looks very fresh. I like how this pattern can support strong fabric designs and colors.

Your girlies are the cutest ever! And chubby knees are always good!! I already have my Patricia and am looking forward to picking out some fabric and choosing between all those options!

I’m super excited about this pattern! You did such a beautiful job, and you’ve kind of sold me on doing a knit/woven combo. I just need to find the time to do it now!

Hmm, a chance to win, you say?? Sounds lovely! I can picture the dramatic top on my girlies and I have to say you are convincing me that mixing knits and wovens doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I’m not normally a fan of how the two meet, but this looks great and super comfy. I might actually do that too.

I love the dramatic high low dress, but I’m totally undecided on sleeves! Beautifully done as always, Eleri!

These are all so pretty!! I am glad to hear the woven still fits well. My favorite is woven/short sleeves/dramatic high low.

I will make the littlest version for my future baby girl! I’m excited this has no closures because I am a sewing newbie. Thanks for sharing!

I love all the versions, but would probably do a sleeveless high low top for summer as it’s already over 100 here.

Its so lovely! I’d like to try a floaty woven, something sheer with an under-dress I think. I hear there will be a ladies version too, very excited for that!!

The knit bodice with woven skirt looks awesome! I have not made a knit/woven combo yet so I am excited to try it.

I’ll have to make a high low version. Thanks for addressing the fit and no closures… That is always a concern for my skinny mini!

You’re welcome! I always make sure to sew by the chest size on the pattern and blend extra length in! I’m happy to help if you have any questions!

Each time I see Patricia I fall in love with the style. As we are heading into winter, I would definitely start with a longer sleeve dress
