Favorite Sites for Fabric for Mom for Mother’s Day

Hey Dudes and Kids,

Did you wait yet another day and STILL forget to order a special gift for Mom? Don’t worry. You still have time to check out Monday’s post and choose Prime shipping and be golden.

But let’s say your wife is just like me and FABRIC is her love language? I have a few independent retailers to hook you up with! I have personally purchased custom fabric, specialty fabric, and designer fabric from each of these retailers.

Fabric Shops I Love

  • Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is an excellent source of fabric. I currently purchase about 80% of my fabric there because the selection matches my taste, the quality exceeds my needs, and the prices meet my budget! The customer service is also excellent. You can encourage your sewist to make a wish list here, or purchase a gift card. Shipping is usually very speedy. I usually wait to order until I fill a flat rate box and get my order in 2-3 days.

  • The Fabric Fairy also has a vast selection of quality knits and notions. I first started shopping there when I was first interested in swimsuit sewing. I have a few projects lined up right now featuring more fabric from this shop and I can’t wait to share them with you in a few weeks. The Fabric Fairy also sells gift cards and allows for your favorite sewist to make a wish list. The Fabric Fairy offers excellent customer service including Fairy Care service to help match fabrics since it is sometimes hard to tell what goes together when you are staring at a computer screen.

  •  I placed my most recent woven fabric order with Phat Quarters when they ran their celebration sale on Art Gallery prints and had a coupon for free shipping. I was blown away by the speedy shipping, gorgeous selection of prints, and the general customer service. I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the near future.

Just for Fun

These are just a few other fun ideas for your favorite crafter.

  • I have had my eyes on these Sewing is My Cardio t-shirts for months. I also really like this one. No matter your craft, you can find a tee to celebrate what you do right here.

If you head on over to Thread and Grain, too, you just might find a coupon and contest to celebrate their relaunch!

  • Snap Press. I have it on good authority that a KAM Snap Press is on the way to me for my upcoming 29th (again) birthday. KAM Snaps is a popular family-owned and operated business in the sewing world. After consulting with my sewing sisters in the PAB Patterns group, I requested this set to get started along with size 16 die for baby clothes. I have been using Babyville pliers for random projects for a couple of years, but I have always dreaded (and sometimes put off)  projects that require snaps because using pliers is tedious. If your lady has never used snaps before the KAM snap pliers are a great way for her to give adding snaps to her sewing a go. I hope to have an easier time whipping up kimonos, rompers, button-down t-shirts, and baby bibs!
