A few weeks ago, I got to be a stop on the beautiful Here Comes the Fun Fabrics blog tour. I’ve been obsessed with the Sew Caroline fabric lines for quite awhile, but have only recently started sewing through some of her beautiful pattern collection.
Right after I made my first Sew Caroline pattern, I saw Caroline’s sneak of The Coffee Shop Dress on Instagram and just had to make one!

A few days ago, wind chill values in my neck of the words were 50 degrees Fahrenheit BELOW zero. Yes, you read that correctly.
So what does a rational woman do in this circumstance? She signs up to test an adorable swimsuit for her little girl!
It has been awhile since I’ve tested a pattern. Lately, while I’ve been creating a lot and working on various projects around my house, I just haven’t had time to do a test with a deadline. But who could pass up this cuteness? Now you don’t need to wait any longer to sew a cute suit or leo for your girl! The Swan Lake Leotard and Swimsuit has released and is available for purchase at the release price of $6.75 today (1/19).
Just because I’m sometimes quiet on the blog doesn’t mean I’ve stopped creating! During all of my holiday sewing this year, I had time to make a new favorite shirt! This is the Love Notions Willow Wrap top. The Willow Wrap top includes a straight and asymmetrical hem options. The top has an optional modesty panel and is very nursing friendly. And, as a bonus, I used one of Art Gallery Fabrics newest lines to create this look for their lookbook!

Several weeks ago, I went to quilt market with the fabulous Katie from Simple Life Pattern Company. It was an amazing and inspiring trip! I came home with lots of ideas and inspiration to bring to my sewing room. I imagine as I add more of my Market inspired projects to the blog I will share more, but for now, I will focus on this new project.

My theme for today is Black Friday shopping! While these pictures were taken behind our home with no stores in sight, I do actually leave my little town to do some shopping on Black Friday. In the Midwest, layers are key, so you’ll notice that I used longer sleeves and comfortable knit pieces for my long drive to the store and for all-day comfort. And if there is a blizzard, I’ll be just as comfortable shopping at home from my computer!
This post is a milestone for me in many ways! This is my first sew from the highly-anticipated Issue 13 of One Thimble, my first make using a fabulous Designs by Call Ajaire pattern, and my first post since I returned from Quilt Market 11 days ago!
I am so excited to share my creation for the tour: The Raglan Party Dress by Designs by Call Ajaire! One of my favorite things about this pattern is how much the look changes based on which woven fabrics you choose to use.
