The Molly and The Sophie by SLPco

Hey guys!

I have something new to share today! I took a short break from sewing to celebrate my daughter’s First Communion and it feels so good to be back in my sewing room – and even shooting outside on a night like yesterday’s!

Today, I’m going to share the newest releases from the Simple Life Pattern Company,  Molly and Sophie.

As soon as the Molly and Sophie bundle released, I purchased it, and I made a muslin. I have some gorgeous Art Gallery denim that I want to use, but before I cut into it, I wanted to be sure on how I would blend sizes for my oldest. She has a very tall and slender build and I really like to pay attention to getting the best fit possible especially with woven designs. Continue Reading

The Everything Bag by Seaside Notions

Eleri  here today and I’m participating in Seaside Notion’s Web Wednesday! Today I’m going to talk about the awesome Everything Bag.

I learn about most of the independent designers I try either from other friends who sew, or through sewing groups on Facebook. I have been actively trying to branch out and try some new-to-me designers. The Pensacola Beach Petal Top caught my eye because I have recently acquired several beautiful 1/2 yard-1 yard cuts of woven prints from a local friend destashing. However, as my girls are getting bigger, I needed a top pattern to showcase these prints and the Pensacola had interesting details that I know will look fabulous on my girls, big and small, as we head into summer. What She Wore Sunday – Solemn Communion Edition

I am a Roman Catholic mother. The sacraments are where I experience some of my deepest moments as a mother. I have stood at the baptismal font with all of my children and have had them baptized into our Catholic faith as newborns. I have waited nervously outside of the confessional while my two oldest children complete the Sacrament of Penance for the first time and celebrated with a gift of candy since God’s mercy is so sweet! How to Sew a REAL bra into Your Fave Swimsuit Pattern

Hey guys!

As you heard on Tuesday with my Swimsuit Sewing Tricks and Tips for Beginners post, I made myself a fabulous swimsuit last week. Since the pattern released today (3/31) I can finally share my pictures and a special hack I made to make it perfect for me!

I am happy to report that testing the new Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop Bahama Mama Peplum Tankini and High Rise Bikini Bottoms went very well, and I ended up with a suit I love for a day at the pool, the lake, or just heading to the splash pad with my kids. I will share more about my new suit on Friday (4/1) since today I want to share my special bra hack for all the ladies eager to sew theirs up right away! Continue Reading

Another Dolman Day

So last week, I was finally able to share pictures of my Sun Kissed Tee by Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop in a gorgeous Art Gallery knit. If you scroll through the blog, you can see that I’m a HUGE fan of PAB. I have sewn over 100 garments made with PAB patterns in the last 22 months.

There are a few reasons for that volume of sewing (not that I have to justify sewing excessively to my readers, I imagine). Continue Reading
